These Wrinkles

It has been far too long since I have posted anything! Going back to work after the year of pandemic quarantine has been a challenge, and I haven’t had the precious time I was gifted during the shut-down to work on my music as frequently. I have managed to continue writing, and during a recent vacation managed to record a couple of my new songs. Thanks for your patience!
“These Wrinkles” was written around the time of my last birthday. I was being contemplative about life and all the marks it leaves on us through the years. Society tries to tell us that we should be ashamed of growing older, never tell your true age, cover yourself with makeup or get some plastic surgery when you start to look “old”. But I believe age should be celebrated! Every year gained is another year of survival, knowledge acquired, life experienced, love shared, friends gathered. Every scar, every laugh line, every wrinkle, every blemish has a story behind it. I remember them all. I’m filled with gratitude for the experiences I’ve had, the things I have learned from them, and the people who shared them with me. The song represents those musings. I hope you enjoy it.

It's nice to see and read you are celebrating a return to your creative "base camp" of writing and music!! I couldn't agree more about embracing our age. I've found that I look at my hands and forearms, discovering new age spots and wrinkles despite the hydrating skin-toning lotion I apply. I choose to surrender to them and focus on the fact that I have my beloved Dad's hands which brings me joy. Thank you for the reminder that we are all one in celebrating each day we wake up and have the gift of another 24-hour cycle to live in the skin we're in!! I'm going to check out your new song now!! 🎼☮️
